PANEON natural menus are a complete food for dogs; individual needs vary depending on age and activity.
CROWD
Thanks to high-quality natural food, significantly smaller feeding quantities are required than usual.
The guideline value per day and kg body weight is: 20 g, small breeds up to 25 g
Most cases show that no additional feeding is necessary for family dogs with regular walks.
PUPPIES
In principle, allow yourself to eat as much as is expected at fixed meal times. The upper limit for larger puppies is the feeding amount they would need as an adult dog.
For details please request our puppy feeding information.
CATCH-UP NEEDS
After the change to Paneon, in the detoxification phase (1-3 months), a little more food may be needed to catch up.
Finally, gradually adjust the amount to the guideline value.
APPETITE
Don't use the animal's appetite as a benchmark. Wolves and wild dogs often only hunt
a prey animal once a week and are prepared to eat huge quantities at once,
as this often has to be enough for a few days.
That wouldn't be a problem if a 2-day fasting would follow after a large meal.
But in the family unit, the dog watches “his pack”, the family, eating and can't understand why he doesn't get food.
If the dog is fed daily at “pack meal times”, the portions naturally have to be smaller than the “apartment wolf” would like.
This innate instinct to eat is awakened, especially with high-quality food, as they do not know whether THIS good “prey” will still be “hunted” by the owner the next day. The dog would always like to continue eating even though it is “already enough”. Often it is only after many weeks that he gains a vague certainty that he will get something as good again the next day.
IDEAL WEIGHT
In principle, “the eye of the owner” is decisive.
If ribs are visible (can be felt on long-haired dogs), the four-legged friend is far from being too thin, but rather athletically slim and corresponds to the famous and healthy six-pack in humans.
A dog is only too thin when the vertebrae or pelvic bones are clearly visible.
CONTROL WEIGHT
The specified amount is sufficient for an average domestic dog. Nevertheless, “the eye of the owner” is the only decisive factor.
Because there can be various reasons why the animal gains or loses weight.
For example, if: * high basal metabolic rate * a lot of exercise * impaired digestion, etc., more calories may be required.
Deworming, vaccinations, stress, illness, and even the detoxification phase in the first three months can also lead to weight loss.
Gain weight
The amount of PANEON Natural Menu does not need to be increased to gain weight.
The addition of cereal is sufficient.
PANEON organic six-grain flakes are ideal; these can be added to up to 1/3 of the volume of the PANEON natural menu.
Mix the flakes with warm water into the PANEON natural menu and let stand briefly.
Alternatively, you can also use organic brown rice or organic wholemeal pasta.
Lose weight
Often it is enough to leave out the cereal. You can also reduce the amount of PANEON Natural Menu up to 15g/kg/day.
Then don't add any cereal or give any grain-based treats.
PANEON chewing products are permitted.
PERFORMANCE DOGS
Search, sports, and sled dogs may have significantly higher calorie needs.
In this case, the additional administration of high-quality fat may also be necessary.
FREEDOM FROM CHEMICAL ADDITIVES
This is extremely important. They promote many intolerances, allergies, autoimmune diseases, and even cancer.
Commercially available chews and treats are often badly contaminated with chemical additives.
We therefore recommend the purely air-dried, chemical-additive-free products from PANEON.
